1-Phenyl-1H-tetrazol as Corrosion Inhibitor for Pipeline Steel in Sulfuric Acid Solution

1-Phenyl-1H-tetrazol (PHT) has been studied as an efficient corrosion inhibitor for X65 steel in sulfuric acid environment. Atomic force microscope test results show that PHT can effectively inhibit the of 0.5 M solution. Quantum chemical calculations and molecular dynamics simulations a small energy gap value large dipole moment value, which is excellent inhibitor. In addition, adsorption on Fe(110) surface adopts parallel binding shows steel. Potentiodynamic polarization concentration increases, current density decreases significantly. When 1 mM, inhibition efficiency reach 92.1%. conforms to Langmuir adsorption, process spontaneous.
